What Texas Humor Can Do to You
More than anything, Texas humor should be something that would make you look at the brighter side of things. Texans have a sense of humor that is entirely their own. It is something that amuses people from different American states and even those belonging to other nations.
The great Texas humor is oftentimes referred to as the American sarcasm. But then again, if all people start to see things the way Texans do, it will become a lot easier for everyone to cope with life’s many difficulties. The big optimism of Texans is evident in their sense of humor. Unfortunately though, not all people share the same view.
It is easy to spot a Texan out of a multitude of strangers through his actions. Texans tend to laugh things off, even if it is the most unfortunate event to ever happen to them. Other individuals subjected to the same fate would be filled with so much cynicism for sure. And since pessimism is always stronger in influence than optimism, the people around him tend succumb into the same state of misery and remorse.
Texas humor allows Texans to be optimistic amidst starvation. While the rest of the people would tend to be pessimistic even in their success, Texans would simply brush off bad luck with a mere wave of a hand and some amusing remarks.
This positive attitude of Texans is worth emulating. With it, they are able to withstand long years of drought, starvation, and fatigue striking their land. Texans has this ability to survive even the biggest turmoil of their lives. They can manage to joke about their misfortune, even if it means they won’t have anything to go on after that.
There’s no sense in living a life of misery when you can spice your life with some Texas humor. Try to associate yourself with people who simply love life and living, just like the Texans. Texas is not an entirely different country. It is simply a place where people refuse to live in the same state of confusion as everyone else in this world chooses to be.
Texas humor is an attitude. And it is an attitude that is worth living by. However, it is best that sarcasm is removed from it to give way to morals. That way, everything remains in the right perspective. Influencing others positively is the very role of Texas humor. And if we all just try to think, live, and laugh like the Texans, the world is going to be a much better place to live.
