Understanding Texas Humor
Texas is known for many things. But the Texas humor, by far, is the most popular trademark of the State of all. Texas is a relatively big. And as such, the people there pride themselves with all other things big, including tales, myths, and even the natural wonders that are distinct to Texas like the armadillos and hails.
Texans are individuals who are also big in their pride. They might think differently like the people from other states, but they share the same big American dream just like the rest. A lot of people say that going to Texas is like going to a whole new country. And probably, that idea has a lot to do with the equally popular Texas humor.
One major factor to Texas is social consciousness. For some reason, no one ever questions why Texas believes in a certain thing or idea. Sometimes, all people there think the same way, thus making other people think that the place is a republic of its own. On a certain point of view, that can actually be an advantage, considering that Texas is one, solid nation.
Texas humor is nothing to get so serious about. It is more worth understanding than laughing at. There are simply too many things going on at Texas that seems to be a little too amusing for a number of individuals. But for the pure Texan resident, there is really nothing funny about them or anything about Texas at all. Everything in the Texas humor books is nothing but phenomenon naturally happening in and around the state.
It is never hard to understand Texas humor. It all boils down to understanding the lifestyle, the culture, and the way of living of a true-blue Texan. Once you are used to their ways, you would never be left wondering about what has been previously said and done.
Just like people of other people, Texans has their own way of spending Sunday afternoon or passing away time. Their love for the TV set cannot be traded with other people’s love for hanging out and enjoying night life. You can say that Texas is a place of entirely different views. But that doesn’t mean it is a backward state or anything else like that.
People in Texas speak funny. And that is also one reason why Texas humor had come to be. With the Texan accent and the Texan way of speaking, it is not surprising why the people there become the butt of jokes of many amusing stories.
